What is DNSSEC and how does it work?

DNSSEC stands for "Domain Name System Security Extensions". But what is it exactly?

DNSSEC provides an additional signature on the DNS records of your domain name. This allows the recipient of your DNS records to verify that these DNS records really belong to your domain name. This ensures that your DNS records cannot be forged or spoofed.

At Site.eu, DNSSEC is enabled by default for your domain name, if we support it for your extension. Not all extensions support DNSSEC.

Want to set up DNSSEC yourself?

Don't use our DNS and want to set up DNSSEC for your domain name yourself? You certainly can! On the management page of your domain name, go to "Domain settings" -> "Advanced settings". If you do not configure these settings correctly, your domain name may become unreachable. Please only do this if you know what you're doing.
