DNS Notifications When Managing DNS Elsewhere

Getting notifications about missing DNS records? Don't panic. There's a simple reason for this, and it might not be a problem at all.

Here's What's Happening

When you receive a notification about missing DNS records, it's because our system checks for DNS records only in our own DNS management interface.

If you manage your DNS records with another provider, we cannot see those records. This is perfectly fine - you can link your domain to external DNS if that works better for you.

Should You Be Worried?

The short answer? Probably not.

These notifications will keep appearing because:

  • We only check our own DNS management system
  • We don't check external DNS servers to verify your records

What Should You Do?

Here's a simple checklist to make sure everything's working properly:

  1. Compare the records - Look at the DNS records mentioned in our notification
  2. Check with your DNS provider - Log into your external DNS management (wherever you manage your DNS). Need help? See how to add external domain names to your dashboard
  3. Match them up - Make sure all the records from our notification exist in your DNS provider's system

If all the records match? You're good to go. Your website and email will work just fine.

Will the Notifications Stop?

Here's the thing: these notifications won't disappear. Since we don't check external DNS servers, our system will always think your DNS records are missing.

But if you've verified your DNS records are correctly set up, you can safely ignore these notifications.
