Good news if you use redirects. Since 23 October 2026, a redirect you create in your dashboard also works when visitors type https:// before your domain name. Before, it only worked with http://. And you needed web hosting to get https.

What changed?
- A free SSL certificate for every redirect. Our redirect server gets it by itself, the first time someone visits your domain name with https://.
- No web hosting needed. Before, you needed a hosting plan and a certificate in DirectAdmin for this. Not anymore.
- Renewed automatically. You never have to think about it.
- http:// keeps working. Nothing changes for visitors who type http://.
Do you need to do anything?
No. Your existing redirects already work with https://. The very first https visit can take a few seconds, while the certificate is being made. After that, it's fast.
It works for your domain name, its www version and every subdomain you made a redirect for. They just need to point to our redirect server. With the default Site.eu settings on, that happens automatically.
Where do you create a redirect?
Log in to your dashboard, click Domains and open your domain name. Then click the Redirects tab. Read how to create a redirect, or everything about redirects and HTTPS.
