Your website won't load. Your email doesn't come in. Or your domain name doesn't work at all. Is something wrong on our side? Or is it just you?
Two minutes of checking usually tells you.
Step 1: check our status page
Go to site.instatus.com. There you see the live status of:
- our web hosting servers (DirectAdmin)
- our mail servers
- our name servers (DNS)
- the website builder
- our own websites
Is there an outage or planned maintenance? You see it right at the top, with updates while we work on it. Click Get updates to get them by email.
Want to see your own server? Click a group to open it and look for your server, for example DA021. Your server name is in the address bar of your browser when you log in to DirectAdmin, like da021.site.eu.
Step 2: all green? Then check these
No outage on the status page? Then it's usually something that only affects you. These are the most common causes:
- Does it work on mobile data? Then our firewall has probably blocked your IP address. Read what to do when your IP is blocked.
- Has your domain name expired? Check the renewal date in your dashboard. An expired domain name stops your website and your email. Read how renewal works.
- Did you change your DNS? New nameservers or DNS records can take up to 24 hours to work everywhere.
- Does your website show a 503 error? Then your website hits a limit of your web hosting. Read why your website gives a 503 error.
- Can you receive email, but not send it? Our spam filter may have blocked your outgoing email. Read what to do when your outgoing email is blocked.
Still down?
Contact us. Tell us:
- what doesn't work: your website, email or DNS
- the domain name
- since when
- the error you see, or a screenshot
Add the email address of your account and your support PIN. Then we can check it right away.
