How to Get Started Using the Site.eu API

Using the Site.eu API is very easy.

Creating Your API Key

First things first. You need an API key to get started.

Here's how:

Simply log into your dashboard on Site.eu. If you need help accessing your account, check where to find your support pincode. Go to the "Settings" page via the top navigation. Click 'API keys'.

That's it. You can now create your API key.

Security Best Practices

Here's the important part. Only give your key access to the API endpoints you actually need. This keeps everything secure.

Create the API key and copy the 256 character long key immediately. Save it somewhere safe.

If you're using an .env file? Make sure you save it outside your publicly available files.

Important security notes:

• API keys must be exactly 256 characters long
• After 3 failed authentication attempts within 24 hours, your IP address will be blocked for 72 hours
• There is no manual unblock mechanism - please handle your API keys carefully
• Store your API key securely - it cannot be retrieved after creation

Not all API endpoints are exposed to you yet. But we're constantly opening new endpoints for you to use. If you can see the endpoint in https://backend.site.eu/v2, then you can use it. Just make sure you gave your API key access to it.

But here's the catch. This is your actual account. This is not a test environment. All actions are real.
